FAQ

My practice is entirely online. I meet with my clients virtually over a secure platform similar to Zoom. The telehealth format allows for flexibility in scheduling, minimizes late arrivals, and eliminates travel time. Online counseling also allows me to meet with anyone currently in the state of Michigan.
-
This 15-30 minute video conference allows you to try out the telehealth format as we explore your concerns, assess your needs, and determine if Northend Counseling is a good fit for you. I will explain my counseling approach and you will share details about what brings you to therapy. Session frequency, duration, and fees will also be covered. If we mutually agree to engage in the therapeutic process, an intake appointment will be scheduled.
-
Therapy sessions are approximately 60 minutes long and I meet with most clients weekly to start. Depending on your needs and preferences, you may participate in therapy for just a few sessions - OR - as long as a few years. There may be times when it’s appropriate to reduce sessions to bi-weekly or monthly depending on need and progress.
-
Yes. Jody Begley, LMSW-C and Northend Counseling LLC are in-network providers for the Michigan insurance plans listed above. Because each plan is different, please contact your health insurance plan to verify telehealth coverage and gain an understanding of what out-of-pocket fees associated with deductibles and copays might be required.
-
Research on telehealth therapy has shown that this format is as effective, and in some cases, more effective than in-person sessions.
