Why Telehealth?
Telehealth, Online Therapy, Teletherapy, Virtual Counseling, Remote Psychotherapy…there are many terms to convey the same concept: counseling sessions conducted through video calls where clients and therapists interact in real-time.
Northend Counseling is not a brick and mortar therapy office. Telehealth therapy services are available to all individuals in the state of Michigan via SimplePractice, a secure Electronic Health Record system. Teletherapy is now widely covered by health insurance plans.
Jody Begley, LMSW and Northend Counseling LLC are professionally licensed to provide mental health services by the state of Michigan. You must be physically located in Michigan to receive clinical telehealth services from this practice.
What you’ll love:
Convenience: Telehealth therapy allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home. This can be especially beneficial for those with busy schedules, childcare responsibilities, or mobility issues.
Accessibility: Telehealth therapy increases access to mental health services, particularly for those in remote or underserved areas. It eliminates the need for travel, making therapy more accessible to a broader range of individuals.
Flexibility: Many people appreciate the flexibility that telehealth therapy offers. It may be easier to find appointment times that fit into your schedule, including during lunch breaks or after work hours.
Greater Choice of Therapists: Telehealth therapy expands the pool of available therapists beyond geographical constraints. This allows you to choose a therapist who best meets your needs and preferences, regardless of location.
Consistent Care: Telehealth can provide a more consistent therapeutic experience, as it eliminates disruptions caused by factors such as transportation issues or weather conditions.
What you’ll need:
Internet Connection: A stable and reliable internet connection is essential for online video therapy sessions. A high-speed connection ensures a smoother and more effective interaction.
Device: You can participate in online therapy sessions using various devices, including a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. The device should have a camera and microphone for video sessions, and speakers or headphones for clear audio.
Web Browser: Telehealth by SimplePractice works on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge on desktops and laptops.
Confidential Space: It's essential for you to participate in online therapy from a private and confidential space where you feel comfortable discussing personal matters. This helps maintain the confidentiality of the therapeutic process.
Payment Method: Jody Begley, LMSW and Northend Counseling LLC are in-network providers for numerous commercial health insurance plans and Medicare. After consultation and prior to intake, insurance information will be verified and arrangements will be made for paying copays, deductibles, or other out-of-pocket fees, if applicable.
